Which eBook System Is Better?

Hi there!

I am going to publish an ebook and I am facing the problem of which ebook system I should use to create and distribute it.

By ebook system, I mean the complete system that allows me to typeset (in WYSIWYG mode), save into a good format (preferably not and .exe file), display (preferably in a 3D page turning fashion) and sell the ebook (e-commerce).

I thought it is very easy to pick one after all these years since ebooks are distributed. Turns out I was wrong!

I did some search over the internet and found that each one is promoting their own interest and no one compares the different platforms and systems existing out there.

According to what I learn, I sort of like the DeskTop Author software because the ebooks it creates are saved as non-executable files, like PDF, but unlike PDF files they can be displayed directly on a website. However, I have not used the software myself yet. The price tag is a bit high for me. Maybe I should download the free trial.

Anyway, so far I have not made my final decision yet. So I set up this board to attract honest opinions from you.
